Nourish the heart & soul while making a difference
While many of us have been blessed to experience our Universe as one of abundance, far too many live a life fraught with deprivation, degradation, and disease. With the core of my own mission lying in women’s health education, I have come to believe that creating and maintaining whole health and stability in the body requires a sound capacity to both give and receive.
From there it is a simple step to extrapolate this holistic health give-and-take philosophy to a universal level. There is simply nothing that nourishes the heart and soul more completely than giving to a cause in which you wholeheartedly believe, and to believe that you can truly make a difference.
With that being said, I have discovered—as have many of you—that all is not as it seems in the world of charitable giving. For this reason I have updated my charitable giving recommendations. You may notice that a vast majority of the charities I recommended in the past are no longer on this page. When you know better, you do better!
The vision of Eastpoint Christian Church is to see Gospel Transformation for Greater Portland, Maine; assist those in the area who are under-resourced move towards a situation of betterment; and to make disciples of all nations embracing the Disciple Making Movement (DMM) method of bringing the Gospel to the unreached. Eastpoint Christian Church is currently working in East and West Africa, and Northern Europe. These programs are intended to help those outside the church and in our community for the Glory of God.
Mercy Ships
Mercy Ships is a global charity that has operated a fleet of hospital ships in developing nations since 1978. The organization brings hope and healing to the world’s poorest people. In addition to providing supplies and offering medical care, they also perform many types of surgeries including those for cleft lip and palate; cataracts and other eye conditions; maxillo-facial and other tumors; orthopedic conditions; and vesico-vaginal fistula or VVF (a condition that causes a constant leak of urine and/or feces). These surgeries have improved the lives of thousands and made it possible for some to be accepted into their communities for the first time. US Freedom Flyers bring accountability and prevent future illegal mandates by President Biden and enforced by the airline industry. Not only are we defending the health, safety, and freedom of pilots, flight crew, and passengers, but we are also working to find solutions to help those who have been negatively affected over the last three years. US Freedom Flyers pursue opportunities to weigh in on issues that threaten medical freedom at nationwide events, encourage more conversation, and develop a deeper understanding of informed consent as well as our rights as citizens of this country, fight to protect and defend medical freedom and bodily sovereignty through teaming with multiple organizations to prevent future illegal government actions, and use our national network to deploy representatives to ensure support is available when medical freedom is under attack, whether at State, Federal, or Corporate level.
